In the Shoes of a Broken Man
I can count my friends on one hand
Yet my enemies are far and wide
Is it because I don’t put any trust in man
Or is it just my simple pride
No one knows what really bothers me
Yet they tell me they feel my pain
If they only knew how hard it must be
On the brink of going insane
When day after day It seems to get
Just a little bit harder to cope
But what’s left when life’s full of regrets
And you’re at the end of your rope
God said that we would have problems
And we must bring them to him in prayer
But while we sit around wait for him to solve them
Do you think that anyone else even cares
I found that the more I try to carry on
The more people try to bring me down
And even though I am very strong
I cry when no-one else is around
It is as if I’ve given my all
Well At least all that I can stand
And my back is still against the wall
And I’m standing in the shoes of a broken man
