In the Park

People milling around Wandering past me without sound Passing me as I sit still Steps go through me like a chill Couples, singles, groups of five Don't even realize I'm alive With perfect eyesight, they can't see With perfect hearing, they don't hear me Sitting alone in the park Sitting alone, it's almost dark Alone among the milling crowd Would they hear, if I spoke aloud? I will not try for reaction I simply sit without an action People milling around Walking past, I hear a sound!
