Notes About The Poem

We should not always believe, or dwell on, what we see.

In the Mirror

In the Mirror

In the mirror, we agree,
Reflections of credulity,
Reverse of what all others see,
Depends on mirror's quality.

Mirrors at the county fair
Distort, quite well, reflections there
Not real, so we don't really care
Finding humor seldom rare

Unlike in the bathroom light
Where reflections we perceive are right
Each imperfection in our sight
No humor there, they're just for spite.

The mirror tells of passing years
Reflecting all the smiles and tears
The loves, the losses, joys and fears
In the mirror all appears

Don't reflect on all you feel
What you see is no big deal
To others you may still appeal
For what you see's reverse of real
