In the Mirror

There is a different me For everyone to see I ‘m sinking in a sea Of everyone but me There is a different face For those who run the race I keep up with the pace But my heart ‘s not in chase For strangers I’m aloof They are water and I’m waterproof I’m not worth the simplest reproof My friends and family see A completely different me To them I’m happy and free But at heart I’m a poet I’m a reader of books I hide behind the guise Of various other me’s A poet at heart, Whatever they see, A writer of stories, Of love and gallantry. So when I forget identity, In the mirror I will see A place that’s meant for all of me.

Very much like you muse on the different aspects of your identity, Olivia. It is so interesting how different facets of our personalities come out with different people and in different situations... But good to know who you are at the bottom of it all. Lovely done! Peace, Gershon
