In the Garden

Goodbye secret butterfly
My heart has learned to say farewell to love’s foregone
Your time has come for the moment
Too intensely peering past your wings
That in fear you fluttered off
But my secret stays with me
You will always have my love in play
So lingering in the garden
Hoping, wishing in your winged might
Give this broken heart that pardon
I made it through alive, no need for flight
Good riddance to the past that scared you pray
And I know your wings are but a glance away
