Listen to poem:

In the Fallow Ground

In The Fallow Ground
David J Walker

Can the seeds planted in
Old soil
Really grow

Is the ground long used
Still fertile or is
The water a waste of time

It seems the passing seasons
Come quicker but take
Longer to yield

The equinox is slower
The Summer Solstice cooler
As I am growing older

	Older and slower and cooler
Soon colder

As if nature
Is asking me to offer my body
And Lay me down in the
Fallow ground

And let the Garden grow over
