In the Depths

Easy it is to go down in the dark
Easy it is to drown in your heart
Easy it is lie down and seek death
But do not expect death just yet
Easy it is to yearn and want
Easy it is for the ghosts to haunt
Easy it is to want death to come
But not so easy to let go of life hum drum
Easy it is to want it to end
But not so easy to transcend
Not so easy to move past the dark
Not so easy to lift your heart
Easy it is to go into the expanse
To happily go deeper
To die perchance
Easy it is to seek death and decay
But not so easy to be happy and stay

Just That Archaic Poet August 25, 2013 at 10:08 AM I love how you keep mentioning a "yearning"; I can totally relate to this (as I'm sure everyone else can as well). I've said it before: I love when a poet expresses a universal sentiment, and you've done it well. Fantastic read; great job! :)
