In the Dark

It’s dark
But you’re light and warm
Your shirt on the floor
My head on your chest
Your heartbeat
Confusing but soothing
Everything slows down
Time stands still
Your breath on my neck
I stay awake and watch you sleep
You open your eyes
And you push me away again
Then you leave me
Suddenly it’s cold and lonely
Here in the dark
Why did you have to go?
