In The Blink of an Eye

In the blink of an eye you were gone,
It’s hard to believe that time marches on.
Your smile, your wave the gentle touch if your hand,
Bring these memories to me and its as if you are here again.
It’s in the daytime I can do just fine,
But in the evening hours those memories come back into my mind.
Thoughts of what use to be,
Memories of a boy who I once thought was part of my destiny.
Seven years ago that boy ceased to be,
Seven years ago changed his life and now he's just a memory
