In the Bleak Midwinter
The picture this carol conveys
real thoughts of frost biting hard
with snow fallen all around
just like a festive Christmas card
Paints a picture God’s great
far larger than earth so majestic
but humbled came to a stable
became man proving it all prophetic
This is God who cherubim’s worship
incessantly they do with no interruption
but this Lord willingly lowered Himself
not seeking man’s approval nor admiration
When I sing this beautiful carol
my mind considers God’s wondrous grace
of turning my bleak midwinter life
into glory desiring only His lovely face
This is the one who’s my saviour
who came here leaving heaven’s glory
for my salvation becoming my substitute
truly making my redemption story
