In That Silence

I fixed my gaze
I fixed my stare
toward this girl
just standing there.

She was alone
she was a dream
her look forlorn
so it would seem.

I took a stroll
I took a chance
I went for her
I met her glance.

And all at once
the clouds blew by
the moon came out
of the darkened sky.

And side by side
a trance took hold
and in that silence
our truth was told.
