In Stages
IN STAGES
Blush once and twice she’s taken
Bit her lip in approval if otherwise mistaken
The feeling is mutual
Similarities of interests unusual
Yet the constant urge preludes every individual
The scenario a definite composite
The future a definite opposite
The zeal so strong at first
You hold hands and do your best
The first kiss
The several I miss…
Changed and fortified from the once bliss
The sight you no longer can’t stand
The palm you no longer hold in hand
The love faded like it was doomed from the start to end
The phone never rings no more
The love doesn’t live here no more
Interests changed
That which we had
What we once were
Memoirs in the past tense
That was then,when we were
Hard to love and hard to let go
A couple we once were
