In Shades of Me and You
I met you where no flowers bloom
And you got drunk on my perfume.
I met you when my walls were high,
Where days and nights met eye to eye.
I smiled at you and you went weak,
A faint blush colored your cheek.
I smiled at you and you smiled back
And hit me like a heart attack.
I kissed you under lilac trees,
My hair was ruffled by a breeze.
I kissed you hard, I kissed you long,
And so I knew where I belong.
I loved you until my heart bled,
With each and every word you said.
I loved you like a thunderstorm
Made of flames and ash alone.
I lost you in a summer morning.
You went so fast, without a warning.
I lost you when the skies turned gray.
You lost me when you walked away.
