In Search of Tomorrow

A tear of joy, a tear of sorrow, One represents new life, one represents no more tomorrows. A never ending cycle with the dawning of each new day, As we set out to make our mark in this game of life we all must play. And as we start to grow with years, our roots start to embed and entwine, And we start to grow and spread like a fast growing vine, Clinging on to everything we touch, And like a starving plant, love is the water we need so much. The more we get, the stronger we grow, And the more beauty we are able to show. But we all have our seasons and then we are gone, Then another child awakens and starts a brand new dawn.

The ever-continuing cycle of life is well described in your provocative poem, Ronald. And surely love provides the impetus for growth. As we bury those we love, we find comfort each time another life enters the world. Ironically, the day after my Dad died, his great granddaughter was born. My sister is 11 years older than I, but it meant so much to have a granddaughter. I wish Dad could have seen the beautiful baby girl. Love your work and your compassionate heart! Carolyn

Amen to that. I remember working as a cna and one of my patients was passing. Her daughter looked at me expecting of my children and said, one leaves out...one comes in...that really stuck with me as I gave birth to my son. Powerful truths in this piece.
