In Search of the Great American Poem

I’ve contemplated my navel for hours at a time Searching for precisely a Buddha-like rhyme I’ve looked to the Heavens yearning for signs Yet disappointment replies in the form of rooflines I’ve watched the ocean breakers reach shore My eyes suddenly water I’m no commodore… Though I’ll never give up my pursuit of the Grail It sure seems to me I’ve been chasing my tail

I have to admit I am always shocked at the responses to my poems. The ones I do not especially like others seem to like the best. Weird huh?

A Buddha line of rhyme. Always changing, yet always the same. It's all above my pay grade, I say just keep typing, I'll keep reading.

Now, if you think I know what I'm typing, Ken... I just close my eyes, hit the keys, and Pray! :)

Quail, man, quail. A tall quail no less. Told as Fibonacci stanzas with shadorma refrains. This could be it for you

When you write 'This could be it for you,' I wonder if it's really true. ~ Last Legs

Keep writing for the day will come when America realises you're second to none. Till then go on chasing your tail, at least until hope prevails. A great humorous poem… Belle

I guess we all search for our 'inner Buddha' at one time or another. Thank you, Evelyn. :)
