In Place

I’m not the type to lose things And I hope that doesn’t change, Although sometimes as we age What’s in our minds may rearrange. If everything gets put in place Right after we have used it, It should be there when needed next (Unless our brains confused it). For those who toss possessions Every time in different spots, Finding items might be like A much less fun connect-the-dots. But for neatniks or obsessives, It becomes a little game. Every shelf or drawer or closet Day by day remains the same.

I am the opposite of this "for neatniks or obsessives," But I am tripping over junk now, so I may have to lean toward the light side.

I'm not a very good housekeeper, but I am neat. It's just that things often look a bit different under a layer...or two...of dust. As usual, Ilene, a fun read.

My late wife kept an immaculate home for which I shall always be grateful! As I was on a contingency unit which must go anywhere in the world on a moment's notice, it was imperative I could get dressed and leave silently in the dark, and my daughter is very proud she acquired those techniques. Worked great for us, though others love hide 'n seek! Enjoyed, Ilene! Aloha!

Wow! You described me to a "T," Ilene. In my house, everything has a place and there is a place for everything. If I go to find something where it should be and it is not there I panic! I put my keys inside my cap, so they are always there. I never go out without putting on my cap! But, I don't think I'm compulsive...may be, who knows?
