In Our Quest

Every year...
The peak we saw seems farther
Each stretch of ours represents a year
Yet, with each stretch
Our peak seems to move farther

Every month...
Doesn't have to count
But so does every month
And God we ask every time
For strength from His fount

Every week...
Should just pass we wish
Feeling weaker than the weak
We can't help but wish

Every day...
Like horses we strive
Running the streneous race of each day
We drive ourselves harder in our strife

Every hour...
Our quest for success heightens
Bringing us closer
To the peak of our tower
And our struggle to get there lightens

Every minute...
We just want to get there
Forgetting that there still are many minutes
We have to wait to get there

Every second...
Atheletes we become - gasping for the finish
But more than we long for the finish
How we want to be over - the second

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
