In My World

Oh forsaken heart! Where do you go? Floating in charades of worldly traces, your pain polished for a veiled show, longs to heal your withering spaces. In whirlpools of tears you've seen scarred silhouettes to fears, succumb. Seething malady of death in your spleen drips as rotten blood from your thumb. Come here, to a world of lucid emotions unveil your scars pining to be cured, hold oars of hope in ailing oceans, rivulets of tender lullabies assured. In my world, viscous mist layers dreams, soothing threads weave tattered hopes cuddling ember in snowstorm gleams along incandescent flames on dark slopes. In my world, you'd be free to dissolve your agony in whispers of caressed mirth, showers of soft silk melodies resolve to build sandcastles in tides of rebirth. In my world, death is a friend in disguise, unmasking greedy hurricanes of wars to peace, swords of taciturn kingdoms wait and rise to build bridges serene elixir they release. Come along, my world colours tainted strokes of raging storms that end with a rising sun, unwrap your shields to these familiar folks, facing inner battles with courage, they've won. In my world, February follows December strides, withering leaves from solace in slumber retrace, to hold freezing nights in Asteria's melodious tides, won't you love to float to an enchanting place? Oh heart, there is a world with love I'd create, my dreams strengthen the walls until you wait.. August 17, 2020 If I Ruled The World Poetry Contest Sponsor: Chantelle Anne Cooke
