In My Shoes

if you could stand a moment in my shoes
if you could of felt my joy
just when I heard your voice
for the very first time
it has always been my choice
if you could stand a moment in my shoes

a little girl all grown up now
now my world turned upside down
through all the held on pain
it always seem to rain
but I won't ever give up on hope
if you could stand a moment in my shoes

to see your face your smile
it is hope that keeps me going
keeps my heart from dying inside
talking to you on the phone is alright
but maybe to see you up close one day
this is a prayer I will always pray
if you could stand a moment in my shoes

i tell myself I wont let this disturb my life
God please let this prayer come true
dad one day I will get to see you
and we don't have to make up for lost times
and you don't have to be just in my mind
but in my life to
if you could stand a moment in my shoes

I wrote this for a friend: Sharon to a father
that she have never met. but she prays one day to see.
