In My Hood
In my hood
Each man lives for himself
Screams for help are louder than music
But people listen to the music instead
Fire extinguishers filled with kerosene
Never can tell what made you burn
In my hood
People love "things"...and use people
Nothing is sacrificed for a friend
But a friend is sacrificed for anything
Love is an illusion and trust...A MYTH!
Friendship=exploitation & manipulation!
...you never really know who to let in!
In my hood
Faces are adorned with fake smiles
Yet hearts are filled with hatred
People wear clean clothes
But hearts need detergent
Pretend to love you when ur there...."Frenemies"
In my hood
Kids despise their own parents
Respect is a fairytale
Mothers are called by name
While fathers treated as peers
...the struggle is just real!
In my hood
Youths take drugs before church
...and church after drugs!
Villains hide in chapels
While the righteous are buried in the slums
How holy is the Sacrament?
In my hood
Jealous is given space on the top shelf
Success is suspicious
While poverty is the norm
Achievements are rarely recognized
But failures make headlines
...and the government is blamed for underdevelopment...REALLY?
In my hood
Good men do nothing about bad things
With fear of persecution
Evil is left to flourish
And no one seems to care
Even with the guts you can’t dare
In my hood
"YOU JUS GOTTA WATCH YOUR BACK"
