In My Eyes

I look in the mirror and who do I see
there's no recognition in her eyes of me
Her stare is distant she looks locked inside
I can help her to find her pride

Does she suffer from low self-esteem?
Does she dream until she screams?
Is she demanding self respect?
Is she worrying what happens next?

If I reached out would she pull me in?
I see myself drowning in her eyes
I'll try to help her from within
I can almost hear her cries

I know she wants to come back to me
We will find our strength together
The lonely past we will no longer see
We'll have a life of joy together
