In Memory of a Lost Heart
A piece of heart dropped through my hands
The piece that believed I still held on
The piece I sold has dressed the lands
Inflaming the world and creating wrong
My hands are broken, scarred and cold
My eyes hold loss that borders death
My voice can become your hurt untold
It becomes too real once my world infects
Now I’m always reaching for myself
I’ll never forget the piece I dropped
I can still remember the ways I felt
Because deep inside my heart can’t stop
It becomes so hard to hear my words
Just gathering silence, then an end
All so wrong when pain is all that’s heard
But I’m still me; writing off revenge
A piece of faith rests in my mind
In memory of the truth I knew
And now I’ll never leave my heart behind
And I’ll never give up until I’ve made it through
