In Her Mind
She walked with her head down and hold up,
Years streaming from her face,
Music so loud in her ears she can't hear the world go bye
Her safe place, her comfort zone, just upon her feet,
She looks out across the glass like water,
Nothing but a reflection not of her but the light of the moon,
Her lip quivers and body goes numb,
Feeling lifeless but just so full of it
Hoping for a reason not to
She pull a herself up and over the railing,
Feet steady on the other side
Hands gripped tight to her last minute of life
No longer looking out with tears in her eyes
But down with light in her eyes,
She whispers into the cold night
I tried
I failed
I'm sorry
