In Blue
She walked in blue,
Transient through
Lighted pools
On oak hewn floors;
Eyes silver shone,
Moonbeam grey,
Spectral film of tears.
When my heart in
Stop and start,
Skipped moments,
Memory’s diary cleared
Of smoke,
Emptied so that
Any day,
In lieu of fate,
I could in truth
Accommodate her passions.
I bowed to pray
That I might hold
Her close and
Kiss the arc of neck,
And taste of dreams.
She walked in blue,
Past my shadow
And never once
Looked back.
