In Another Life

In another life, i was married,
high school sweetheart,
3 beautiful children,

stuck watching the love stories,
love i would never have,

My wife, simple, committed, boring.
My soul dying, from no purpose,
Church telling me i am going to heaven,
as long as i dont follow love,
work hard, take care of my family,
believe in Jesus. faith...

Midlife crisis,
Maybe i will help the poor,
feed them on christmas,
go on a mission,
buy a corvette
it makes me feel better,
for a minute.

I enjoyed this poem reminds me of self reflection, looking into ones soul for what could have been and the search to make yourself feel better. Well done.
