In and Out

Inward I go
Outward they know

I pack…my thoughts
I place… my morals
Inside a box
And write "Fragile" in scrawling chicken scratch

Inward I go
Outward they know

I put away my boots
I don't want to stomp
I just want to not wander
Around…and around

I seek and I look
For that simple solution

Inward I go
In order to show
That when they look at me
Outwardly
They see my innards and know
Who I am
Inside and out
I want to be able to break loose
BREAKING LOOSE
NOT BREAKING DOWN
NOT CIRCLING AROUND
GOING UP, GOING UP, GOING UP
STAYING AROUND, STAYING ON MY GROUND
BEING HAPPY WITH JUST HALF A POUND
