In a Frenzied World
We plot and arrange and configure and plan.
Keeping busy every ounce of second we can.
Wearing down our heels on human hamster wheel.
Dashing toward solid goals we can hardly feel.
Then when death arrives, changing everything
We quickly think a new way with a horrible sting.
We forgot to cherish the moments so sweet
Not enjoying the journey, or any kind of treat.
We plot and arrange and configure and plan.
But the rug gets pulled out by a larger hand.
With a start we realize with great surprise
We did not enjoy our hamburgers or our fries.
We gobbled things down, we worked in a frenzy.
We ran toward the future, not sure what the end ‘ll be.
Dashing toward new goals, we forgot about enjoying today.
Appreciation and hope is in our future, a much better way.
