In a Childs mind

I wish I was all grown up, I could reach the kitchen shelf, instead of asking for a biscuit I could get on by myself. I wish I was a grown up I could stay up and watch tv, instead I have to go to bed so the grown ups can be free. I wish I was a grown up a policeman I would be, I would wear a policeman hat for everyone to see. I could go anywhere, wonder through the streets, I would go in all the shops and pick so many sweets. I always here grown ups moan, bills they have to pay, I here my mum moaning about housework everyday. I here dad moaning about electric bill, water, gas and tv, I always thought water came out the tap for free. He says he has to pay for my cartoons that seems totally mad, What is a tv license? I thought our tv was free from dad. Paying for electric I'm confused I start to twitch, I thought you just go to the wall and turn on that big switch, Now I've learnt what bills are nothing is for free, Do I really want to be a grown up or carry on just being me? When dad said "one day son you will become a man" You will have a family pay your bills and do the best you can, Go to school and listen you will start to learn, You will grow up get a job money you will earn. To pay your bills buy your food and put a roof over your head, I said "dad I don't want to grow up I want to stay a child instead"
