Impromptu

i need
not look
at photographs
to see you

you are
who i see
deeper than
my very being

no stars
to follow
as my soul
migrates closer

spinning
opposite poles
out of control compass
compassionate madness

i've wrecked
upon a shore
sure as i've never
seen before but in dreams

yet
in one
photo it seems
behind you is a coconut tree
