Why are some unable to see What is right in front of their eyes The manipulation and hypocrisy Blatant deceit and outright lies The inauthenticity of a human soul Pretending to be ,only to gain Righteous and so pure of heart Just playing a dishonest game Empty words portraying kindness Meaningless and untrue Why are some unable to see When an imposter is in clear view!

They have no compassion or sense of responsibility and are only nice to people who can help them in some way or another taking advantage of others compassion, kindness and unselfishness. Why are they so noticeable these days? Perhaps there are more like that now. Take care, Grumpy Old Duck XX

Hi Deb., POWERFUL WORDS - ENJOYED THE READ VERY MUCH. Maybe because there are many out there in this world, who don't have the backbone to realize who they truly are, but this is just temporary, they play a dishonest game in this life, they I would venture to say maybe fail in the next. 'Goodness is a virtue, virtue is a grace and Grace is a little girl who never washed her face' a childhood poem that I remember. That she never washed her face could mean she could never change. blessings, Jenn.

There are imposters everywhere.... wolves in lambs' clothing ! We should have the discretion to separate the grain from the chaff, the genuine from the spurious! Great poem, dear Deb.

You're certainly right about the increase in phoniness and scams. My 93 and 91 year old uncle and aunt were scamed out of $100,000 +, just since they turn 90. They showed me all of the paper work they had received and it was obviously a scam to me, but they had no clue. More generally, people have different needs, and sometimes will do whatever they have to do to feel liked or accepted. There are just as many that know what's going on as those that have no clue. Enjoyed the concise lines, that combined say so much. Perhaps if we need outside love(or attention, or?) to be complete, I guess we'll fall for almost anything.
