There were many lessons you taught
Now, I see the importance of your words
sometimes, deaf ears were playful and I fought

There were many lessons you taught
some that fertilized motivation in things I sought
and I never stopped watching the birds

When we are young and our parents are saying things to teach and help us along the way we pay no heed but later in life those words will come back to us and we see the wisdom of those words.
