Implications

How many words can you think of
That we call little girls who play ball
Who’re bright and bold and assertive
And know how to take a fall?

How many words can you think of
That we call little boys who like dolls
Who’re bright and shy and thoughtful
And know how to knit a prayer shawl?

How ‘bout promiscuous fellas
Now for promiscuous gals?
What are the implications?
And where’s the rationale?

:) Of course I thought of "tomboy" for the girls as I was one myself. Boys used to play with GI Joe dolls and no one ever gave it a second thought. Now if these boys had been looking for "anatomically correct" Barbie dolls, I think promiscuous might have come to mind. Very cute poem! Glad you mentioned it in your blog. Enjoyed reading. Love, Carolyn
