Impenetrable Fortresses

Impenetrable fortresses constructed from stones made of regret, reinforced with the concrete of mistakes we can't let go or forget. Confined within these walls only you and your guilt shall dwell. The cruelest prisons are the ones that we build for ourselves.

Your poem says it like it is the cruelest person to our self is our self. Wonderfully written. Short but to the point like poetry should be. Michael
