Impaled

She had auburn hair and green eyes
And a sophisticated gait
That brought her through the bat wing doors
As if her entry sealed my fate

I planned my approach carefully
Then suddenly I ceased to think
I stared at her and could not move
Impaled by an old fashioned wink

By and by she came 'round and smiled
As I just continued my fall
I treasure that time long ago -
The night she pinned me to the wall
