Immortality

Immortality Born into this chaotic world A soul is like a flickering flame So easily snuffed it struggles to live Yet its fires can never be tamed Candles may melt, their fuel may burn out But fire can easily spread One little spark can set all aflame Long after its lighter is dead Our flames are carried by those we have touched Our will can give others hope Together our fire can light up the night Alone we are ash and smoke

Nice Haiku, Aaron... certainly conjures up feelings of the season. Regards, John.

Um, you seem to have accidentally left a comment under the wrong poem and poet. I’m sure Aaron would love for you to leave a message under their poem...

A strikingly powerful piece, Edward. Great use of metaphors. Regards, John.

Thanks. This is one of my favorite poems... but then, I seem to like most of my own poems. (lol) I guess it’s easier to like a poem I fully understand.
