Immortal As the Earth

Death - the final state of me?
Or this, my dust and bone
as part of Earth to be
transformed in time to rock or tree?
Atoms of me gathered on the wind
Scattered, ground or sprinkled
into some other kind of destiny
Organically and chemically, my
minute molecules in food chain spree
gobbled by a giraffe, or monkey -
or as sound, a violin's sobbing melody ?
Part of this Earth, a new grown seashell
or - a blade of meadow grass
bowed in reverence to winds that pass
My thoughts on paper infinite to tell
Shades of immortality- my Earth- myself
