I’m Usually Just Okay

I’m Usually Just Okay

Sometimes a friend,
will ask how I’m doing.
My response is usually,
I’m good or okay.

When an in depth answer,
they’re pursuing.
They repeat the question,
in a more subtle way.

Oft times one can sense,
that things aren’t right.
My mannerisms leave clues,
that cause them concern.

Sometimes encouragement,
can’t make things alright.
So for better times I pray,
 and better days to return.

 I was once told “I know that you’re good,
but good for what”?
Some days I’m good or Okay is a stretch.

Kim Rodrigues Date: 3/7/2024 5:50:00 AM I get that. My dad’s answers “same old, same old,” “okay.” So I know more by the sound of his voice or other clues as to whether be more concerned. One day I said, “Dad, are you feeling down.” He was. I acknowledged his feelings and it was also around pertinent days. Food and conversation do him some good, so that is what I help with.
