I'M Sorry I Can'T

These feelings I cannot suppress
These emotions I can’t hide
The anguish that rises up
When I see these empty lines
Wallowing in silence
You beseech that I speak
I hush my reasons
Though my tears make me weak
He whispers. “Don’t cry my love
I won’t let you fall.”
“But your hands are brittle
And your strength so frail
To trust you would hurt me
And to love you would fail.”
A somber whimper passed through your lips
A modest kiss pressed upon your cheek
No actions to speak of
May we ever portray
But I will love you forever
And for the rest of my days
