I'M NOT ALONE

In the darkest of places,
 I find I'm not alone.
   There are others here,
 In the danger zone.

   I work and play hard,
 I could use some rest.
   I'm one step away from
 A straight white vest.

   A bumpy road that
 Leads to here.
I have come face to face,
 with fear.

   I bind together,
 then ebb apart.
   When I love,
 It's off the chart.

   I have no idea what
 Lies ahead.
   My mind is sharp,
 My heart is dead.

   I know where I am,
 I know what's left behind.
   I still have mountains,
 Left to climb.

   I want to go,
 Keep it moving.
   I am the demise
 Of my un-doing.

   Life hits me like
 A cyclone.
   In the darkest of places,
 I find I'm not alone.
