I'M Not a Terrorist

I'm not a terrorist
I'm a peaceful woman
I'm waiting for the sun...
To remove the darkness and reach the sky
To hold my flag and wave it high
To hug the air, and kiss the sand
To liberate my country and plant my land
To color life with the color of peace
To dream, to hope, to feel free
***
I'm not holding a gun, you see?
I have a green branch in my hand
I have a nice dream in my mind
Give me freedom and let me go
Take my hand and let's say no
No war, no crime, no pain
Let's survive
But be careful... you must know
It's our land... don't say no
I will write it over the rainbow
Palestine will be free
Palestine, you exist to be!

I love this poem a lot. And it reminds me of that occasion - "poets without borders". I understand your anguish. You know, some are occupied by others, and some are also there who remained occupied within their own country. My people are in the second situation. The both deserve freedom. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem.

I have no doubt you are not one but I am not blind to those who are, everyone here talks of "truth". I have been to the middle east and know very well who is Hamas and Hezbollah. I have some advice, when you love your children more than you hate your enemy, you shall have peace. Not to say the other side are angels, no conflict leaves either side completely innocent. If these are your true words, then convince your neighbors, then peace and compromise shall walk to your door.

If you wonder why I say this all, first I am not Jewish, but to fix any problem comes honesty, what Palestinians do not need is support from people who use you because they dis like Jews, second, the methods used to attain your goals do not work. They only breed more violence no matter who is right and who is wrong. I May seem harsh with short words, my heart wishes only peace for all.

Saying all of this, I wish for peace , and for peace must come compromise, and this is not about who is right and who is wrong, but about 2 peoples living together. I wonder if you have watched Palestinian children cartoons, cause that says it all. Teaching children to hate, no matter who is right, is the wrong way to go.

Another issue, is that even as second class citizens, there are Palestinians living in Israel, many christian, also many who have left Gaza because they are gay, and now live in Israel. Hamas has carried out genocides against its own people, if they are not fully compliant with their strict version of Islam. I know, as I have many Palestinian friends, so my information comes first hand.

What is forgotten is that a lot of land was purchased, second, no ones discusses the over 200,000 Jews displaced from Arab lands. As to who the land belongs too, thats a complex issue, however, the land Israel has is a speck of dust in a huge ocean compared to Arab lands. The charter of Hamas states clearly to wipe out Jews, and is supported by Iran who says the same very clearly.

Aha, I can't say the opposite, but we also have the right to defend ourselves and if you noticed very well, you could know who was right and who was wrong. Who started this killing and this miserable life, who took our land? Still, I believe that only PEACE must be after all. Thank you, Arthur

Black Matta-I love your poem. I read about the troubles you have in your country, Palestine. Please don't be offended, I am trying to be a writer, too, so I ask a lot of questions. Do you mind if I ask a personal question? Do you feel others are prejudiced that you could be a terrorist? Is this just because of where you live? Hoping for your peace and comfort.

Thank you, Jeanette. I don't mind at all, you're welcome to ask here or via a private message. Well, lots of people who don't know the truth assume that every Palestinian is a terrorist, or maybe every Arab and Muslim. I wish you all the best in your writing.
