I'M Just a Simple Poet

I'm just a simple poet 
I don't write for fame and fortune 
I don't have anything to sell 
It's just that I have so many stories 
So many things I'd like to tell 
A poem that makes you laugh, cry, think or remember 
I search my brain, like a fires dying ember
I let my fingers do the walking 
on a dusty keyboard 
Sometimes I pray to god, please help, oh lord
So many ideas, but the best may never come
A masterpiece to a few, perhaps junk to some
I'm just a simple poet 
I hope you like what I have to say 
Time for another poem, today's a new day!
