I'M In Love With a Jailbird

I'm in love with a jailbird, whether he committed the crime or not.
I hope that he realizes and never forgets that I really love him a lot.

If he were truly my man and asked me to wait for him I would,
Because I know when he gets out he will love me the way that he should.

Jail changes a boy, a man, a guy.
It has them dropping to one knee to pray and even cry.

As I write this, I wonder what he’s doing, I wonder how he is
I wonder if he knows that I will forever only be his.

I know that being a jailbird is one of his problems right now,
But I will be here when he gets out, on this I take a vow.

I would never do anything to hurt him, I love this man too much,
I will be a born again virgin until the day I feel his touch.

He should know that I will always love him with only a love that I can give
He will forever have my heart as long as we both shall live.

They say I should find me a man that'll take care of me,
but all I need is my jailbird, which they can't see.

They'll probably say that I have someone new and that'll be the word,
but forget what you may have heard, because
"I'm in Love With a Jailbird."
