Im Holding On To It For a Lifetime
Your Body has departed but your soul has risen
I search for you and always listen
I look to the heavens for a glimpse to see
But all I have is just a sweet memory
Even though you’re gone your presence left a sign
So I’m holding on to it for a lifetime
The way you lived affected us all
There was something about you that I often recall
The kindness of your heart the gentleness of your touch
I remember it all because it mattered to everyone so much

I walk in your footsteps when I have the will
But your mark was incredible and your shoes are hard to fill
The light you had will forever glow
Others can only hope to walk in your shadow

I will try and go on the best way I can
Knowing you has made me the best that I am
Images of you still make me laugh and cry
I will love and remember you until the day I die
