I'M Coming Home

tell iyan
to stay hot in the wide belly of the mortar
for deep in my stomach, it will find a peaceful
abode

tell emu fun fun
a good friend of mine
to wait for me at ode igbaja
for i want to revel at the top of its HIGH
endowment
and watch it with pleasing eyes
making fools of those who don't know how to
say enough

tell eran
to stay abound in the plate
for I'm coming home to feast
and ride high on the back of ero festival
I'm coming home
to enrich my memory with the beauty of culture
that's survived the venomous stab of civilization
I'm coming home! !!
