I'M Always Right Here Wedding Duet

(lyrics set to the melody: Kevin Kern/I'm Always Right Here/youtube) The first time I saw you I knew in my heart male voice That I’d spend a lifetime with you. There’s no explanation but right from the start Seems you felt the same way too. You fill me with hope that our love will endure, female voice Your arm round my shoulder I feel so secure. And the light in your eyes tells me how much you care, You are always there. We’ll face the storms and sunshine together, chorus in unison As seasons change our love will be true. For we have promised to stay side by side all the way As we journey through life, now as man and wife. I’ll wake every morning with you by my side male voice And cherish forever my beautiful bride. Though your beauty may fade, for one day we’ll grow old Your sweet face will reflect that same heart of gold. We’ll face the storms and sunshine together, chorus in unison As seasons change our love will be true. For we have promised to stay side by side all the way As we journey through life, now as man and wife. My heart overflows with the joy that you bring female voice With you in my life it’s eternally spring. And if we should be blessed with new life from above They will grow in the presence of our love… I promise to love you, I’ll always be here… in unison I'm Always Right Here Poetry Contest : sponsored by Craig Cornish

Wow, what can I say except that when you're presented with a challenge...well...the proof is here. What you've done is worthy of a professional writer including taking the creative initiative to make it a duet and , because most cannot do what these contest winners have done - pair it to the melody beautifully. Song lyrics are different than naked poetry because they must dance in concert with a melody and you have done that to the point of drawing a romantic tear or two or three--bravo!

Although the number of poets feeling able to face this challenge was less than normal, I'm really honoured by the placement, Craig. It was slightly out of my comfort zone but it was fun working with such a pretty melody. I wonder what thoughts the musician had in mind whilst composing the tune? Thank you for always producing taxing but enjoyable contests! All the best ...Wendy

I like the different voices, chorus. In Ancient Greek times, they did this. I always thought it powerful. Well written.
