I'M a Poet of Note
I'm a Poet of Note
By Franklin Price

I'm a poet of note don't you see
It's your loss if you don't follow me
Write of all that I think
Of food and of drink
My method of thought is quite free
The subjects about which I write
Are as different as the day to the night
What pops in my head
I find has to be said
To not pen it just wouldn't be right
I prefer to write with a rhyme
I find that it takes little time
To put down a verse
Be it lengthy or terse
And I haven't committed a crime
With words I am really quite deft
I write of political heft
How I live my life
And of my loving wife
Of the right and even the left
I write about nature and man
All manners of things that I can
Be they somber or light
Prompt you to run or to fight
I really hope you are a fan
Here's to my family and friends
And the old who are wearing depends
Thank the Lord I'm not one
Writing this has been fun
Read my next this where this poem ends
