Illusions
ILLUSIONS
Jack Kelly
In climbing the pyramid of technology
We have discovered new worlds;
Worlds which have distanced us
From the Spring
Which nurtures us
From the Light
Which guides us.
A thread
Has become a web
Spun with illusions
Where we have learned to
Love things and use people.
Pleasure
Wears the mask of intimacy
Where the ultimate value
Masquerades as
A Lean sculptured body
With a large bank account.
In the dance of life
When the music stops
We may discover that
We are lost and wandering alone
In a desert of spiritual isolation.
To find the path
Which will bring us back
To our Source of
Nourishment and light
We must walk the wilderness between us, and
Transform it
By gentle and persistent efforts
Into a garden of solitude
Where we can nurture each other
With acts of kindness, unselfishness, and love.
