Illusional Freedoms
ILLUSIONARY FREEDOMS
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS
I weep for my children and yours as well
Not savoring the freedoms I knew so well
They’ll be alright absent the thrill
Of taking an action due to their will
Taking personal positions will be the unheard
As all of us numbers will be part of the herd
You won’t be a man or a woman just a being
Lost in a queue not allowed thinking or seeing
You won’t need a name a number will do
Turn in your form and get back into the queue
Entertainment provided there’s no need to exert
Needing assistance “THEY” will provide an expert
Individual thoughts will be dangerous stances
Insurmountable obstacles to any advances
Nutrients engineered to provide what you need
With added ingredients to assist your recede
Clothing is optional,”THEY” have an approved store
Everything is free who could want anything more
And who is this generous “THEY” that we refer to
It’s the fraternal, compassionate, organic, menacing,
intimidatory government hovering over you
