Illusion of Fear

                      What
                   lurks between
               these walls,

       that
I can not
see,

It
creeps,
    crawls,

and

disturbs
     my
          sleep -

Christ!

What Is this,
                that
                  haunts me ?

When
     I reach
            over

    to
       turn on
             the
               lights -

an
    eerie
       darkness,

               fall upon
                        the
                           room -

                    What
              I heard,

         I no longer
     hear -

             And
                 a hush walked
                    in -
                         calmly

                             For it
                                 has silenced

                           to
                      its muted
                 death!

             Could
         it be,

    these things
I fear,

         do not exist?
