I'll focus on my blessings and thrive

I'll focus on my blessings and thrive

I don't need your kind of kindness
The one where it's all pretend
Where it's about what you're trying to get
Rather than being good or a decent friend

I don't need your kind of loving
The kind that always keeps score
Where it's all about your pretend generosity
Rather than being the one I adore

I don't need your kind of relationship
The one where it's all about your needs
Where you pretend that I'm the one you want
Rather it's you who wants to be pleased

You see, my life is just too short for b*******
And I am at the point where I just don't care
Because I deserve authentic connections
For I am decent and rare

I believe in being a good person
I believe in treating others well
I believe in showing real kindness
I believe in making Earth less like Hell

I believe in hope and faith
I believe in decency and respect
I believe in making love last
I believe in not living with regrets

So, if you can't be a good person
If you can't see past your own selfish needs
It's best that we part ways right now
Because my life is meant for ease

Maybe one day you'll finally get it
You'll understand compassion and empathy
You might even embrace truth and emotions
Maybe set your heart and soul free

But that's not my cross to bear
I have given until my cup ran dry
You go forth and live your own karma
And I'll focus on my blessings and thrive
